Head of Service Transition

We are currently seeking an individual to take on the role of European Head of Service Transition, with a global FMCG organisation in Surrey.

This is a contract role for initially 4 months, however this is likely to extend further. Happy to consider candidates interested in contracting in the UK and also potentially contract to permanent in Eastern Europe.

OVERVIEW

Within this role you would report to the European Head of Service Delivery and will be accountable for the introduction of new services in Europe. This role will be one of the key leadership roles across Europe. You will operate as the gatekeeper for major change and all new services that are being introduced to the region. You will ensure quality is maintained within the Europe Service Delivery function by enabling readiness in the service delivery teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and smooth transition of IT services and processes to the business as usual operations. Working in adherence to the service transition policy and methodology, the role works closely with the IS Solution delivery team to ensure controlled introduction of new services. The role will manage the service introduction processes for strategic IT projects and identify potential risk areas for service delivery within the project portfolio allowing channelling of resources appropriately and escalation of high risk areas.

REQUIRED SKILLS

*Demonstrable experience of working within a service introduction, service transition and service design function, to ensure smooth transition from project to operations.
*Experience in delivery of results within diverse cultural environments.
*Experience of working within complex projects or programme structures in a large matrix organisation.
*Working knowledge of ITIL
*Working knowledge of project management methodology
*Experience of constructing and reviewing project plans and resource utilisation against plan activities.
*Thorough understanding of the principles of Service Management
*Experience in managing deliverables using third party vendors.
*Extensive experience in large complex IT service delivery and support environments.
*Experience of stakeholder management and communications within IT service environments.
*Experience of working in a pan European organisation, managing and leading teams across multi countries.
